Philosophy
Institutions outlast individuals
We believe durable prosperity comes from well-governed institutions, not from single deals. Every engagement aims to leave a client with stronger systems than it had before: clearer decision rights, documented processes and leaders who can sustain them.
Our operating principles are simple. We tell clients what they need to hear, we scope work honestly, we stay within our professional boundaries, and we measure success by what the client can do after we leave.

How AfriVantage GLOBAL HQ Limited collects, uses and protects your personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
1. Who we are
AfriVantage GLOBAL HQ Limited ("AfriVantage", "we", "us", "our") is a company incorporated in Nigeria, with its office at Plot 488A Dawaki Extension Layout, Dawaki, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. We provide strategic advisory, compliance, education, media and event services, including AfriVantage Studios and The C of O Summit.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website (afrivantage.com and its pages, including /cofo-summit) and through the forms, messaging links and events promoted on it. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (the "Act") and the General Application and Implementation Directive 2025 issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission ("NDPC").
Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at afrivantage@gmail.com (subject line: "Data Protection").
2. Personal data we collect
We collect only what we need for the purposes in section 3.
| Where | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Consultation and enquiry forms | Name, organisation, role, email address, phone number, area of interest, preferred consultation format and the details you write about your matter. |
| Report download (State of Land Title in the FCT) | Name, email address, organisation (optional), the category you select (for example "Diaspora buyer"), your consent record and how you found us (for example a campaign tag). |
| C of O Summit registration of interest | Name, email address, phone number, organisation, how you wish to take part, your message and how you found us. |
| Newsletter | Email address. |
| WhatsApp, email and phone | Your name, number or address and anything you choose to tell us. |
| Assessments and checklists | Your answers are stored only in your own browser unless you choose to send them to us (for example, "Send my progress on WhatsApp"). |
| Events, Title Clinic and podcast | Attendance details, ticket type, dietary or access needs you tell us about, and for Title Clinic appointments, copies of land documents you choose to share. If you appear as a podcast guest or speaker, your image, voice and statements. |
| Technical data | Basic information your browser sends to our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. If you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage data (see section 10). |
Sensitive personal data. We do not ask for sensitive personal data such as health, religious or political information. Please do not send it to us. If you tell us about access needs for an event, we use that information only to make arrangements for you, with your consent.
3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
Section 25 of the Act requires a lawful basis for each use of personal data. We rely on the following:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries and arranging consultations | Steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract; our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries |
| Providing services you engage us for | Performance of a contract |
| Sending the report you request and related updates about it and The C of O Summit | Consent |
| Newsletter and marketing messages | Consent |
| Managing event registrations, tickets, Title Clinic appointments and sponsor enquiries | Contract, or steps before a contract; consent where stated |
| Recording and publishing podcast and event content featuring guests and speakers | Consent, given in a separate release |
| Website analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) | Consent |
| Keeping the website secure and preventing fraud and spam | Legitimate interest |
| Keeping business, tax and professional records; responding to lawful requests | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have balanced our interests against your rights and freedoms, and we do not rely on it where your interests override ours. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
4. Consent
Where we rely on consent, we ask for it clearly and separately, for example through an unticked checkbox, as required by section 26 of the Act. You may withdraw consent at any time, without giving a reason, by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email, replying "STOP" on WhatsApp, or emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who process data for us under contract, such as website hosting (Netlify), form and document storage (Google Forms, Google Sheets and Google Drive), email, and messaging (WhatsApp, operated by Meta). They may use your data only on our instructions.
- Professional partners we engage to deliver a service you request, such as legal practitioners, surveyors and valuers, and only with your knowledge.
- Event partners, but only where you give specific consent. For example, a Title Clinic sponsor receives only the details of attendees who opt in.
- Authorities, where Nigerian law, a court order or a regulator requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
- A successor business, if all or part of our business is reorganised, merged or sold, subject to the same protections.
6. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Nigeria, including in the United States and the European Union. Under sections 41 to 43 of the Act, we transfer personal data outside Nigeria only where the recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules, contractual clauses or a certification that gives an adequate level of protection, or where another basis permitted by the Act applies. We choose providers that commit to industry-standard security and data protection terms.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Client records: for the duration of the engagement and up to 6 years afterwards, to meet legal, tax and professional obligations.
- Report requests, newsletter and Summit mailing lists: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which we keep only a suppression record so we do not contact you again.
- Event registrations and Title Clinic records: up to 24 months after the event. Copies of land documents shared for a Title Clinic review are deleted within 90 days unless you engage us.
- Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it securely.
8. How we protect it
As required by section 39 of the Act, we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to staff who need it, strong passwords and two-factor authentication on our accounts, confidentiality duties for staff and partners, and careful selection of service providers. No system is completely secure, so please do not send us original title documents or passwords through the website.
9. Your rights
Under sections 34 to 38 of the Act, you have the right to:
- be informed about how we use your personal data, which this policy does;
- access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- erase your data where we no longer need it or have no lawful basis to keep it;
- restrict how we use your data while a concern is resolved;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to direct marketing at any time;
- not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects on you;
- data portability: to receive your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another organisation.
To exercise any right, email afrivantage@gmail.com with the subject "Data Protection Request". We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond without undue delay and in any event within the time the Act and the NDPC's directives allow, which is normally 30 days. Requests are free unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential storage. The website uses your browser's local storage to remember things like your checklist progress and your cookie choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Analytics cookies. Where we use Google Analytics, it is loaded only after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the page.
- Embedded content. Videos embedded from YouTube are served in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may set its own cookies when you play a video, under Google's privacy policy.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies to profile you.
11. Children
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian, as required by section 31 of the Act. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party websites
Our website links to other sites, including WhatsApp, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and Google. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before giving them personal data.
13. Data breaches
If a personal data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the NDPC within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by section 40 of the Act. Where the risk to you is high, we will also tell you directly, in plain language, with the steps you can take to protect yourself.
14. Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right under section 46 of the Act to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in how we work. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email where we have your email address.

Terms of Use
The rules for using this website and the content, tools and events on it.
1. About these terms
This website is operated by AfriVantage GLOBAL HQ Limited ("AfriVantage", "we", "us", "our"), Plot 488A Dawaki Extension Layout, Dawaki, Abuja, Nigeria. These Terms of Use apply to everyone who visits or uses afrivantage.com and its pages, including the Compliance Hub, the Strategic Advantage Assessment, the blog, AfriVantage Studios pages and The C of O Summit page (together, the "Website").
By using the Website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Website. We may change these terms at any time by posting a new version here; your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
2. Information only, not professional advice
Everything on the Website, including articles, blog posts, videos, podcasts, checklists, assessments, reports, guides, figures and service descriptions, is general information for educational purposes only. It is not legal, financial, tax, investment, valuation, surveying or other professional advice, and must not be relied on as such.
Laws, regulations, fees, thresholds and government practice in Nigeria change often. Content may be incomplete, out of date or not suited to your circumstances. Always obtain advice from a qualified professional on your specific situation before acting or refraining from acting.
3. No professional relationship
Using the Website, submitting a form, sending a WhatsApp message or email, completing an assessment or attending a free session does not create a client, lawyer–client, adviser–client or fiduciary relationship with AfriVantage or any of its directors, staff or partners. A professional relationship exists only when we confirm an engagement to you in writing, on the terms of that written engagement. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information until we have confirmed an engagement.
4. Tools, checklists, assessments and reports
The Strategic Advantage Assessment, Compliance Hub checklists, the State of Land Title in the FCT report and similar tools give preliminary, general guidance only. They are not an audit, legal opinion, title search, certification of compliance or guarantee of any outcome. Results depend entirely on the answers you give. Figures we publish from government statements or third-party sources are reported as stated by those sources and are not independently audited by us.
5. Investment and property information
Nothing on the Website is an offer, invitation or solicitation to buy or sell any land, property, security or investment. We do not guarantee any return, title, approval or outcome. Property and investment decisions carry risk, including loss of money. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for carrying out your own due diligence. Regulated services are provided only by, or together with, appropriately licensed professionals under separate written terms.
6. Events, the Title Clinic and sponsorship
- Event details, including dates, venues, speakers, programmes, prices and sponsorship packages, are indicative and may change, be postponed or be cancelled. Registering interest does not reserve a place or create any obligation on either side.
- Speakers, panellists and partners express their own views, which are not necessarily ours. Organisations named as prospective partners are not confirmed unless we state otherwise.
- Title Clinic reviews are short, preliminary conversations based only on documents you show. They are not a title search, legal opinion or valuation, and the reviewing professional's responsibility is limited to the terms they agree with you in writing.
- Tickets, sponsorships and exhibitions are governed by the separate terms issued when you buy or sign. Those terms prevail over this section.
- By attending an event, you agree that you may be photographed, filmed or recorded, and that we may use such material to report on and promote our events.
7. Intellectual property
The Website and its content, including text, reports, checklists, frameworks, designs, graphics, logos, the AfriVantage name and the "AV" mark, are owned by or licensed to AfriVantage and protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages, and download reports offered for download, for your own personal or internal business use. You must not copy, republish, sell, adapt or commercially exploit any content, or remove any notices, without our prior written permission. Reasonable quotation with clear credit to AfriVantage and a link to the source is permitted.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Website for any unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purpose, or to impersonate any person or organisation;
- submit false information, other people's personal data without their authority, or content that is defamatory, offensive or infringes anyone's rights;
- introduce viruses or harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website or the systems behind it;
- scrape, harvest or copy content in bulk, or use the Website to send spam;
- interfere with the Website's operation or with other users' use of it.
We may suspend or block access, remove content and report activity to the authorities where we reasonably suspect a breach.
9. Third-party links and services
The Website links to and uses third-party services, including WhatsApp, YouTube, Google, Netlify and social media platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
10. Website availability
We aim to keep the Website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Website at any time without notice.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, the Website and all content, tools, reports and downloads are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, representation or condition of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- AfriVantage GLOBAL HQ Limited, its directors, officers, employees, agents, speakers, contributors and partners shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to use, the Website, or your reliance on any content, tool, assessment, checklist, report, video, event session or communication made available through it.
- This includes, without limitation, any loss of land, property, title, money, investment, profit, revenue, business, opportunity, data or goodwill, and any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, even if we were advised of the possibility of such loss.
- Any liability for services you engage us to provide is governed solely by the written engagement terms for those services.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Nigerian law, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AfriVantage GLOBAL HQ Limited, its directors, officers, employees and agents against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Website, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. It forms part of these terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties shall first try in good faith to resolve any dispute by negotiation for 30 days after written notice. If the dispute is not resolved, it shall be referred to mediation at the Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse. If mediation fails, the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any right we have to seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court.
16. General
- If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
- Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written engagement or event terms, are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of the Website.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
